RESIDENZE NEL MOLINO STORICO

Nelle immediate vicinanze del centro storico di Gubbio uno splendido molino ad acqua e stato sapientemente ristrutturato e arredato, destinato a residenza turistico-ricettiva.

Sei appartenenti, con a disposizione locali ad uso comune, compongono la struttura, isolata ma vicinissima alla città, raggiungibile comodamente anche a piedi, percorrendo la strada Provinciale, munita di comodi e sicuri marciapiedi.

La superficie complessiva di 700 metri quadrati con 11 appartamenti che variano dai 40 metri quadrati a 80 metri quadrati, tutti con ingresso autonomo bagno e terrazzi, tutti sono stati arredati con cura e grande attenzione.

Cenni storici

Il « Molino delle Monache di San Benedetto » si trova in Via Giove Pennino, lungo il corso del torrente Camignano, nel 2005 è stato inserito dal Comune di Gubbio nell’elenco degli Edifici di valore storico-architettonico ed ambientale considerati beni culturali. L’edificio apparteneva amministrativamente alla Villa di Santa Margherita del Condotto.
Il molino era esistente tra il 1759 e il 1768: Nel 1700, come detto, il molino era di proprietà del Monastero di San Benedetto.

L’edificio faceva parte di un “sistema di molini” lungo il torrente Camignano che fornivano farine per la città di Gubbio.

Il molino è situato nel cuore del sito geografico della gola del Bottaccione definito “Archivio della terra” per la presenza nelle rocce di una stratigrafia che consente lo studio di un periodo geologico compreso fra i 140 e i 30 milioni di anni fa.

Proprio da questo sito, ricco di iridio, la scienza ha elaborato una delle teorie più avvalorate relative all’estinzione dei dinosauri avvenuta 65 milioni di anni fa.

RESIDENCES IN THE HISTORICAL MILL

In the immediate vicinity of the historic center of Gubbio a beautiful water mill has been skilfully restored and furnished, intended as a tourist-accommodation residence.

Six members, with available rooms for common use, make up the structure, isolated but close to the city, easily reached on foot, along the Provincial road, equipped with comfortable and safe sidewalks.

The total area of ​​700 square meters with 11  apartments ranging from 40 square meters to 80 square meters, all with private entrance and bathroom terraces, all have been furnished with care and attention.

Brief history

The « Molino delle Monache di San Benedetto » is located in Via Giove Pennino, along the Camignano stream, in 2005 it was included by the Municipality of Gubbio in the list of buildings of historical-architectural and environmental value considered cultural heritage. The building belonged administratively to the Villa of Santa Margherita del Condotto.

The mill was existing between 1759 and 1768: In 1700, as mentioned, the mill was owned by the Monastery of San Benedetto.

The building was part of a « system of mills » along the Camignano torrent that supplied flours for the city of Gubbio.

The mill is located in the heart of the geographic site of the throat of Bottaccione called « Archive of the earth » for the presence in the rocks of a stratigraphy that allows the study of a geological period between 140 and 30 million years ago.

Precisely from this site, rich in iridium, science has developed one of the most elaborated theories related of the extinction of dinosaurs, 65 million years ago.
